fridge with an ice shelf (fermenting chamber)

i have just got a fridge with an ice shelf i just would like to know can i convert this in to a fermenting chamber . i have an stc 1000 that i would like to use . if it is possible to covert this type of fridge can someone please help me.

2-has temp controller (check)
3-can cram an ale pale into it (???)

If you can do step 3 then you've got a ferm chamber.

I have a fridge I removed the ice shelf and wedged it on the back wall of the fridge. It holds one carboy for fermenting, and 2 kegs for kegerator. I use a temp controller to set the temperature, not the fridge controller.
