Looking for portable kegerator solutions... 2024 Edition

Just take a reciprocating saw and cut the entire top of the cooler off, including the hinge and seal then build the collar as an extension....paint the wood and use silicone sealant. Just a thought.

Looking for portable kegerator solutions... 2024 Edition

Have you considered going with the cheaper Coleman and building a keezer-style collar? How DIY are you feeling? :mug:

    Carboy problems

I did a stupid thing early on and I should have known better, (but since the injury I've done a number of such stupid things) I stupidly washed a carboy out with extremely hot water and only after bottling the beer did I notice the layers of fractured but seemingly intact glass that was now the...

    4 gauge secondary for kegerator?

UPDATE: I just finished my utility rig EVABarrier upgrade so just for the heck of it I dug up a redundant 8mm OD EVABarrier line, cut it into 4 pieces and stuffed them in a pop-bottle...Fit quite nice and loose: So yeah...do yourself the favor of passing on the Ultraflex for EVABarrier.....you...

    4 gauge secondary for kegerator?

It sounds like the kegerators you're looking at are the re-badged @KegLand Series-X...if that's the case; You will not be able to fit the regulators inside..they just don't have the space even if you used strap handled kegs however; Like @Bobby_M said; you can fit 3 EVABarrier lines per...

BIAB attempt at Tree House IPA

^^That! Definitely at least skim through the Fermonster thread, another worthy bucket-replacement consideration is the simple but well featured Fermzilla All-Rounder... a bit difficult to move around when full, but takes all the pressure you need to do pressure fermentations while still being...

    4 gauge secondary for kegerator?

Sounds like you have a specific make/model kegerator in mind....Which one? ...If you're still shopping; The Series-X has 2 bottle-cap openings at each top corner that will fit 2, maybe 3 EVABarrier lines through each one. Or like @mac_1103 said; just make the hole bigger... I personally can't...

BIAB attempt at Tree House IPA

Given how far you've come since you first signed up, I really think it's time for you to consider spending on about $85 + shipping..... Once you can do true, fully closed transfers, the difference in taste is an epiphany, and it really sounds to me like the beers you're making deserve it...

    Sediment in bottom of keg.

^^ That! Agreed with everything @eliastheodosis said and in that vein, here's a link to Fermonsters: https://www.brewhardware.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=fermonster&Submit= I really like to watch new brewers journey as it gives us a chance to revisit our own and sometimes rethink a part of our...

    Kegland Oxebar corny kegs 20L/5.2gal

Since it's moved on to chemical reactions and @KegLand is weighing in; Do you suppose this keg would be suitable for long-term storage of Star San? I have a Series-X kegerator so these won't fit, but as far as Star San use goes, I'm in the 'keep it for about a month or so before discarding'...

    5/16 Barb Size Differences

Don't let my bad experience with a few duotights sway you, 99% of Duotight users are perfectly happy with their perfectly functioning Duotight systems. (I can only be certain I had one bad part and the few other leaks I had are down to my own incompetence..I've got brain/spine/CNS damage that...

    Kegland Oxebar corny kegs 20L/5.2gal

Every once in a while a post will stick in my brain and I'll start assembling things to see if they'd work...While it didn't quite work this time, maybe this'll be some fuel for thought or something onother reader might find useful; My first thought was actually "This is a job for my Fermhead!"...

    Blowtie 1 or 2?

My own reasoning in choosing the bowtie 1 was that I could more easily swap out the gauge or reconfigure the bits... I never felt a need to though and it's been working fine for what I use it for, but I have considered swapping the gauge out for the digital one. Jus wondering if you've...

Long time no see (Return to homebrewing)

Just sayin' I brew in the kitchen too; I slide the stove out so I can borrow the plug and roll my brew rig in, but I have tile floors... My greater concern for property damage has been my windows, walls and ceiling owing to the steam. Yes, I now use a steam-condensor (...

Not meaning to sound too obvious, but did you let it cool down before pitching the yeast?
