    What are you drinking now?

I just ran out of Wheat Privilege Ale, so if I don't make some like tomorrow, it will be a hard summer.

    What are you drinking now?

Had to rip out a couple of trees today and cut up a magnolia that was too close to the workshop. Not the greatest job of tree-felling! Came back in and dropped my shirt on the floor. It went "PLOP." Summer is here. Doesn't matter what month it is. Time for one or more Yard Boss Lagers.

    Can’t believe I did that

I changed my oil and poured a quart on the driveway before putting the plug back in. Failed to torque the lugs on my cart correctly and had a wheel fall off. I made some kind of mistake with a keg of ale and pumped maybe 1.5 gallons into the keezer. When I was in high school, I drove about two...

    What are you drinking now?

Finally got my chainsaw fixed, and now I'm having a wonderful Disaster Management Ale. I thought I would never beat that saw. This is a great day.

What book is on your nightstand? Readers!

Yesterday I got stuck with my wife at the special DMV office for foreigners, where she was supposed to take a written test and road test. While I was there suffering severe butt damage from the awful hard chairs, I read Cold Crematorium: Reporting from the Land of Auschwitz. It's a memoir from a...

    Ingredient Price Increases

Hearts Homebrew in Orlando still charges $1.65 per pound for a lot of malts, crushed, measured, and bagged. You just have to order a lot to kill the shipping cost.

    Tipping on Homebrew Supplies

Here's something else: you NEVER tip a business owner. They charge whatever they want. If they want more, they can ask for it up front.

    Tipping on Homebrew Supplies

Visit Egypt some day. When you use the toilet, whatever Egyptian happens to be standing closest to the door will demand money.

Can bottle conditioning fix my hazy beer?

Don't almost all beers get clear eventually, whether you want them to or not?

    Tipping on Homebrew Supplies

When the entitlement mafia is sleeping, do not poke it with a stick. When I'm in a non-tipping situation, and they make me indicate the tip while someone stares, I write a big zero and count on them to get over it. Tipping is for service. Sales is not service. A drinking customer is paying...

    Warm homebrew is ok

I look at it this way: when beer gets warm in the glass, do you pour it out? I don't. I like it freezing cold, even when it's wrong. I like it at the "proper" temperature. I like it less, but enough, when I forget and let the glass get too warm.
